We've been able to bring more people on board and join the Chieftain TV class. They can see that this is a career option, because, like I said, I never saw this as a career option, because I just didn't know it existed. But, you know, kids getting able to see the video board on the football field as well as our basketball arena. Show the kids that they can do this for real.
Niko McWilliams, Video Production Coordinator, Sapulpa High School
We've actually had a couple kids who are just really, really, good. And even for the kids that aren't quite on their level, we always tell them, and they see it very quickly, that all it takes is a couple times of doing something. Do the first one as good as you should, but then you start getting on a roll and then you start feeling better about yourself.
Niko McWilliams, Video Production Coordinator, Sapulpa High School
I was really concerned and worried, as anyone would be. But Daktronics gives you a lot of online training before the boards even came in. We started with bare bones, just getting the job done, and then as the year went on, learning how to incorporate more and more things.
Niko McWilliams, Video Production Coordinator, Sapulpa High School
It's not just our athletes that get featured here. We're hosting a band concert tonight, and we're going to incorporate the video board in that. We use it for a variety of things, like our graduation is coming up, and we're going to be running a very nice slide show that's going to look so much better this time around, because we have this video board.
Marcus Crittenden, Director of Operations, Sapulpa High School
When a kid hits a three pointer, and you hit one of the custom graphics that was made for us that's got our logo, it just makes it sizzle that much more, and people notice that.
Marcus Crittenden, Director of Operations, Sapulpa High School
The number one response is just that look of wonder and amazement. That's like what you see on ESPN when you're watching the games on TV. It's a smaller version of it, but that's what you see there.
Marcus Crittenden, Director of Operations, Sapulpa High School
It's for the kids, so trying to make the best for them, even if it's a little bit more work on us, you know, they do a fantastic job.
Michael Rose, Athletic Director, Sapulpa High School
Parents are taking video of their kid on the video board, not from the stands. They could see them better during basketball season.

The big thing is to make sure you have a plan in place, especially if you are going to do ads. You need to have a purpose for it, get the right planning, and don’t be afraid to include other people from the community as well.
Michael Linde, Director of Technology and Assistant Athletic Director, Van Meter Hight School
We use it for co-curricular activities as well. We'll have PE classes out there, and we can put something out there – just turn the music on, something for the kids to enjoy. And they're always looking up there, seeing that.
