A Dynamic Display System For an Immersive Fan Experience
Daktronics partnered with Real Madrid C.F to install a large, 360-degree LED halo display system and additional video displays at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The project includes a unique halo structure suspended from the roof, outward-facing displays, and a ribbon display around the seating fascia, all designed to enhance the fan experience with dynamic content.

The Daktronics Solution: A Unique, Engineered Halo
Daktronics, along with partner Legaz Arquitectura e Ingenieria, delivered the spectacular halo display system. The club's goal was not merely an upgrade, but a transformation into a multi-use facility that would set a global benchmark for fan experience and technology. The final design was the result of hundreds of iterations, resulting in a solution optimized specifically for football and other large events, such as NFL games.

Unique Design & Engineering
The Tilted Halo
The final design is distinctly recognizable because the halo is uniquely tilted, and the goal-end sections are strategically enlarged, making it a signature feature of the new venue.
Conic Corners
Due to the conic geometry of the halo, traditional rigid displays could not form the corners. Daktronics engineered a solution using freeform ProPixel stick elements to curve the inner corners and deliver an uninterrupted view of content.
Structural Complexity
The halo is not a single solid stripe but designed in five pieces to allow for the movement and deflections of the stadium's retractable roof.
