Daktronics Announces 2026 High School Video Summit for Educators and Student-Led Live Event Production
BROOKINGS, S.D. – May 28, 2026 – Daktronics (NASDAQ: DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, announced the 2026 High School Video Summit, a two‑day educational experience designed to help high school educators and student production teams strengthen their live event operations ahead of the upcoming season. Taking place June 23–24, 2026, the Summit blends virtual learning with in‑person showcase experiences hosted at high schools across the United States.
Built specifically for the high school market, the Video Summit connects educators with industry professionals and peers who actively produce live events at the scholastic, collegiate and professional levels. The program focuses on practical insight, real‑world examples and skills participants can immediately apply within their own schools.
“The High School Video Summit is about more than technology — it’s about investing in people,” said Kyle Sydow, Daktronics high school market manager. “By connecting educators with experienced professionals and real school environments, we help programs build confidence, share ideas and prepare students for meaningful roles in live event production.”
Virtual Sessions Led by Industry and Education Professionals
The 2026 Summit opens with a full day of virtual sessions featuring presenters who bring experience from professional sports, collegiate athletics, and high school programs. Confirmed speakers include:
- Francisco Castillo, director, producer, and replay operator with experience supporting the LA Dodgers, LA Galaxy, LAFC, USC, UCLA, the Rams and the Chargers
- DJ Griff, ESPN College GameDay DJ and music educator with Pittsburgh Public Schools, sharing insight on sound design and atmosphere at live events
- Lucas Dahlberg, event producer and promotions professional with experience at the University of St. Thomas and the Minnesota Wild
- Keith Brown, operator, producer and educator at Perry High School, offering a firsthand perspective on student‑run productions
- Chad M. Ekren, director of broadcast and media operations with extensive experience in professional baseball broadcasting
Sessions are designed to balance inspiration with practical takeaways, helping educators and students understand both the creative and operational sides of live production.
In‑Person Showcase Day at Active High School Sites
A defining element of the High School Video Summit is the in‑person showcase day, hosted at participating high schools nationwide. These site visits allow attendees to step inside real production environments and see how student‑led crews, educators and technology come together on game day.
During the in‑person experience, participants take part in guided tours and demonstrations of live event systems used in high school settings. The day also creates space for informal, peer‑to‑peer conversations where attendees can ask questions, share challenges and learn from one another.
By hosting the Summit at active school sites, Daktronics reinforces that high‑level production is achievable at the high school level and that students play a central role in making it happen.
Preparing Programs for the Next Season
High school production programs face constant change as students graduate and new team members step into leadership roles. The Video Summit is intentionally timed to help schools carry knowledge forward, ensuring ideas and skills gained during the event translate into stronger productions throughout the season.
By combining expert voices, peer‑driven learning and real‑world showcases, the 2026 High School Video Summit supports long‑term program growth and student development.
