Troubleshooting Venus Control Suite: Ethernet-Based Communication

    Steps

    Determine communication method used and proceed to matching communication method below.

    Ethernet Radio

    1. If you cannot physically access the display, contact Daktronics for further troubleshooting/Service Call.
    2. Is the sign connected to the network and been power cycled?
    3. Check if personal computer (PC) has Ethernet Bridge Radio (EBR) Diagnostics. Follow Ethernet Bridge Radios: How do I get the Diagnostic (EBRD) Utility? to install Diagnostics if needed.
    4. Confirm that PC is direct connected to network. 
    5. Open EBR Diagnostics and check if full signal is showing from PC to sign as per Ethernet Bridge Radios: How to use the EBR Diagnostic Utility.
    6. Are ports 443 and 80 open?

    Ethernet Fiber

    1. If you cannot physically access the display, contact Daktronics for further troubleshooting/Service Call.
    2. Has the display been power cycled?
    3. Has the media converter been power cycled?
    4. Is the display connected to the network?
    5. Are any lights lit on media converter?
    6. Is the media converter plugged into a known working outlet?
    7. Are ports 443 and 80 open on the network?

    Ethernet Wired

    1. If you cannot physically access the display, contact Daktronics for further troubleshooting/Service Call.
    2. Has the sign been power cycled?
    3. Confirm that display is connected to the network.
    4. Are ports 443, 80 and 3001 open on the network?
    5. Contact Daktronics for further troubleshooting/Service Call or proceed to Troubleshooting Galaxy: Wired Ethernet Communication for Wired Ethernet Troubleshooting.
