How to setup a DB-6500 for first time fire up (FTFU)?

Cause

NOTE:  This guide is for use by Installers in the field.

NOTE:  This guide is applicable to displays using Venus Control Suite.

Resolution

  1. Verify the steps outlined in the 65 Series Digital billboard Installation Quick Guide, DD4271593 have been completed.
  2. Connect onsite modem to the Internet/1 port on the router.
    • If site will be will back to back with another billboard sharing the internet connection, also connect the interconnect cable from port 5 on the primary side router to the Internet/1 port on the router in the secondary face as shown below.

  3. Move cable for the webcam from port 1 on the network switch to port 3.
  4. Configure the VIP as outlined in How to configure a new or replacement VIP controller for a Venus Control Suite controlled DB-6500, DD4626348.
  5. Configure the DMP as outlined in How to configure a new or replacement DMP player for a Venus Control Suite controlled DB-6500, DD4627909.
  6. Contact Daktronics technical support to complete configuration.
