Dayton Dragons Add More LED Technology to Game-Day Experience with Daktronics Installation

Additional digital space brings another level of opportunities for engaging Dragons fans at events

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 17, 2024 – The Dayton Dragons have added to their game-day experience by once again partnering with Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, to install two new fence displays and a home plate ribbon display. Installation was recently completed at Day Air Ballpark in Dayton, Ohio, and supplements the 2015 Daktronics installation of a main outfield video board

“The Dayton Dragons have enjoyed our partnership with Daktronics over the last 20 years,” said Dayton Dragons President Robert Murphy. “Daktronics provides some of the best customer service, project implementation and digital products in the sports entertainment industry. The upgrades to Day Air Ballpark for the 2024 season will provide for an improved fan experience.”

Fence Display Details

Along the outfield wall, two new fence displays will deliver additional statistics, graphics and information for all Dragons fans to keep up with the live action. One display measures 6 feet high by 40 feet wide and the other measures 6 feet high by 200 feet wide. Each display features 10-millimeter pixel spacing to bring high-quality imagery with wide-angle visibility to fans in every seat.

The fence displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing them to show multiple forms of content in different zones of the display face to meet the needs of the team and their entertainment objectives. These zones of content can change with the click of a button to cater to every event being held at the ballpark.

Home Plate Ribbon Details

The new home plate ribbon board measures 2.5 feet high by 10 feet wide and also features 10-millimeter pixel spacing. This display allows for information and graphics to supplement content being shown on the main video board and fence displays while also allowing the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.

“Daktronics is very excited to collaborate with the Dayton Dragons for this exciting project,” said Joe Hernandez, Daktronics sales representative. “The Dragons have done a tremendous job with their game-day experience and we are proud to be a partner with the franchise and to see our longtime relationship with the Dragons continue with these upgrades.”

Daktronics is also including a Show Control solution to integrate the new displays into the overall game-day production. This industry-leading control system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a powerful yet user-friendly production solution.
