Daktronics Bringing Indoor LED Technology Advancements to InfoComm 2025 in Orlando
COB and other direct-view LED innovations slated for display at Booth #4233
BROOKINGS, S.D. – June 4, 2025 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, is headed to InfoComm 2025 in Orlando, Florida, from June 7-13. In Booth #4233, the company will highlight advancements in LED technology for the indoor market, including MicroLED, COB (Chip On Board) and bendable modules.
“We’re committed to the indoor market and we’re growing our product lines to fit the AV industry and their needs,” said Jim Vasgaard, Daktronics national sales manager for the AV sales channel. “In Orlando, we’re showing an expansion of our COB product line and will be unveiling our 0.7 and 0.4-millimeter MicroLED product, which is still in development. We want to demonstrate our ongoing expansion of all indoor direct-view LED (dvLED) products and look forward to the AV industry's feedback.”
Those product lines include the COB product that was previously introduced at InfoComm but now includes a 2.5-millimeter pixel spacing option, one of the first in the industry. Another product on display at the event includes Daktronics' bendable module to fit the curves and shapes of many different architectural needs. From columns to curved walls and more, this solution is a great fit as evidenced by the project at Riyadh Front Mall for esports.
Continuing to enhance the experience for the AV market and installation teams, Daktronics Speed Frame mounting solution will be showcased as well. This advancement allows for quicker installation of dvLED displays while minimizing downtime for end users.
Finally, showcasing advancements in MicroLED technology illustrates Daktronics’ keeping an eye on the potential for emerging technologies.
“MicroLED is widely viewed as the next frontier in display technology,” said Adam Gilliland, Daktronics product manager. “While it is not yet cost-competitive with OLED or LCD for consumer devices or miniLED COB for LED display systems, ongoing investments from big-name companies are rapidly advancing the field. If manufacturing challenges are overcome, high yield rate and mass-transfer are more realized, MicroLED will become the dominant display technology, offering superior color accuracy and image quality across a wide range of devices.
“We are very excited about recent breakthroughs and progress we have made in our journey developing and manufacturing Daktronics’ Active Matrix MicroLED and look forward to accelerated momentum in bringing true MicroLED solutions to the large-scale LED display market in the years to come.”
Daktronics NPN product line is designed specifically with the ProAV market in mind. The product features a proprietary deep-black surface encapsulant that dramatically elevates contrast, resulting in richer and bolder imagery, and serves as a protective barrier to reduce chances of contact damage during installation, operation or maintenance. Combined with a fast installation process and parts access guarantees, Daktronics NPN dvLED looks and performs better throughout the lifetime of the display.
