Southern Illinois University Welcoming New Daktronics LED Video Board

Football games receiving double the video display space

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 10, 2019 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale to design, manufacture and install a new LED video board at Saluki Stadium. The installation will double the size of the previous display and is slated for this summer to be ready for football season this fall.

"We are proud to install a new Daktronics video board at Saluki Stadium and are excited about the big-time atmosphere the new board will create at our home football games," said SIU Director of Athletics Jerry Kill. "We partnered with Daktronics because they are the industry leader when it comes to video board technology and our fans deserve the best. We also recognize the importance of their customer support and their ability to help us keep the video board among the best in the nation for years to come."

The new display will brighten the end zone with 1,750 square feet of display space to share live video, instant replays, statistics, graphics, sponsor messages and more. It will feature a 15HD pixel layout and measure nearly 29 feet high by 61 feet wide. Variable content zoning will allow it to show one large image or any combination of content in multiple windows giving flexibility on game day.

"We're excited and humbled to work with Southern Illinois University to provide and install this new upgraded Daktronics LED display technology to Saluki Stadium," said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. "This new technology will not only be a great addition to the overall game-day experience but will also bring a new level of entertainment to fans who enter the gates on game days."

The university will also receive a 25-foot fixed-digit scoreboard, delay-of-game clocks locker room clocks to prepare the stadium for collegiate football games.

Daktronics has grown with the sports industry from the company's beginnings in 1968. Today, the company has LED video display installations at hundreds of colleges and universities across the United States.
