Daktronics Delivers New LED Centerhung For University of Delaware

Bob Carpenter Center brings new view to Blue Hens fans

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Dec. 3, 2018 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with the University of Delaware, in conjunction with IMG College, to bring a new LED centerhung display system to Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Delaware. The system was installed this summer to enhance the game-day experience for Blue Hens volleyball and basketball fans these upcoming seasons.

"The addition of the Bob Carpenter video board pushes our game-day atmosphere to another level," said Zak Grim, Assistant Athletic Director of Game Presentation and Fan Experience for University of Delaware. "It allows us to entertain Blue Hen fans at all our home games with a more diverse content package and a more robust game-day experience. Additionally, it continues to showcase why the Bob Carpenter Center is one of the premier entertainment destinations in the area."

The centerhung features nine individual displays forming a square-shaped system above the playing surface. The main four displays each measure nearly 9.5 feet high by 16.5 feet wide to show true high-definition imagery. Filling the space between the main displays, four curved corner displays each measure nearly 9.5 feet high by 5 feet wide to bring a complete 360-degree viewing experience. Below the main displays, a ring display circles the configuration measuring 2 feet high by 50 feet in circumference.

All centerhung displays feature 6-millimeter line spacing to bring excellent image clarity and contrast to Blue Hens fans at every event.

The four main displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replay, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

"Daktronics is once again excited to team with the University of Delaware to provide a state-of-the-art product to enhance the overall fan experience," said Fran Kulas, Daktronics sales representative. "The Bob Carpenter Center is a fantastic venue for athletics as well as other special events, and with the addition of this new centerhung, Daktronics is thrilled to play a part in revitalizing this special facility."

In addition to the equipment installation, the Blue Hens also received a content package to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services, an in-house, award-winning creative group.
