Venus Control Suite: How do I upload fonts for use?

Topic

  • How do I upload fonts for use in Venus Control Suite?

Environment

  • Product: Venus Control Suite - VCS
  • Components: Fonts
  • Control System:
Upload custom fonts to use in presentations.

Steps

Font requirements

Type: TrueType TTF

Font embeddability: Installable

Note: Some fonts might be set to editable vs installable.  Editable font embeddability may not work in every bowser.

These font requirements can be verified by viewing the font's properties.  See the example below:

Style: It is best to use a font that has bold, italic, and bold italic style versions.  See the example of a font with styles in the image below:

Note: If the font does not have the styles, the Web Presentation or Content Studio will try to apply the options if they are selected.  However, this may cause unexpected text wrapping in some situations.

Install the font

1. Log into Venus Control Suite. See: How do I log into Venus Control Suite?

2. Click on the Tools menu to view the Fonts tool.

3. Click upload.

4. Navigate to the font.  Click on it and choose open.  If the font includes copies their own bold, italic, and bold italic style options, be sure to select them all and open.  After a font is uploaded, it should appear similar the example below.

Using a new font in Web Presentation or Content Studio
  1. Create a new message with text or edit an existing message with text.

  2. The new font should be available in the drop down list.
Font behavior:
  1. The font cannot be deleted if there is a presentation referencing the font.

  2. If a account owner shares a font, the sub accounts under it should see the font as an option when creating content.  However, sub accounts will not be able to share with each other.

  3. Standard users will not have the ability to upload fonts.
