Steps

  • Venus 1500 v4 Software is set up by default to always check for the latest firmware version that matches the latest software version. Every time it connects to a display and you will receive a prompt if there is a newer firmware version available asking if you wish to Update. However, some users turn this prompt off, you can follow Receive "A firmware update is available" message when connecting to a M2 controlled display using Venus 1500 Version 4, DD2001095 on how to Disable or Enable the Firmware prompt.
    • Important: While firmware is being updated, you cannot use the Venus 1500 v4 software. 
    • Important: While firmware is being updated, your display will be blank during the process.
    • Important: Firmware update can take several minutes to complete.
    • Important: Do not Close or Crash Venus 1500 during the update process, this can cause permanent damage to your display controller.

Step 1: Make sure Venus 1500 v4 is updated to the latest software version.

Step 2a: Update Firmware automatically if automatic firmware update is enabled.

  1. Launch Venus 1500 v4.
  2. When display is selected and is connected, you will receive a prompt to update firmware.
  3. Click Yes to update.
  4. Allow update to complete, this may take several minutes.

Step 2b: Update Firmware manually, if automatic firmware update is disabled.

  1. Launch Venus 1500 v4.
  2. Click on the Orange V Application menu, choose Configure and Displays.
  3. Select the display needing firmware update.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. Click Update Firmware.
    • If an update is available, it will start the update.
    • If firmware is already up to date, you will receive a message it is up to date.
  6. Allow update to complete, this may take several minutes.

Step 3: Confirm connection and presentations are running on display.

  1. Close Venus 1500 v4.
  2. Wait 5 minutes, launch Venus 1500 v4.
  3. Go to Home Tab in Venus 1500 v4.
  4. Confirm communication and status from the left hand panel or look for any type of communication Alerts.
  5. Confirm content is in the Running Presentation panel.
    • If not, go to Schedule Tab, and click Publish or Publish to Display.
  6. If able to communicate and content is running out on display, firmware should now be up to date.
