Content Studio: Getting the username and password prompt when launching, User security disabled.
Potential Symptoms
- Getting the username and password prompt when launching Content Studio from the Create Tab in Venus 1500 v4.
- Trying to open or edit current or old content from the content tab, may get an error saying unable to access, Please enter credentials, with a username and password prompt (entering default, or other, username & password do not work here).
- Unable to add presentations to a playlist in the schedule.
- Unable to publish schedule or playlist.
Environment

- Control System: Venus 1500 V4 (4.15+)
Cause
- At one point, User Security was enabled in the software. When this was enabled, the Administrator default password of "password" was changed. After it was changed, the user security was disabled.
Resolution
- Update software to latest version. Follow Venus 1500: How do I update or download the Venus 1500 V4 software? DD1993540 on how to update the Venus 1500 v4 software to the latest version.
Note: Make sure you are actually launching the Content Studio through the Content Tab in Venus 1500 v4. Using a shortcut to the .exe will also cause this problem.
For Temporary Operation
- Enable user security again.
- Use the default username (administrator) and password (password) to log into Venus.
- Launch Content Studio.
- If this works, may be able to then just disable the Venus security feature again, and Content Studio shouldn't ask for credentials again.
