Galaxy: Able to connect to message center; messages are being sent but not displaying.

Potential Symptoms

  • Messages will not go to Running Messages / Presentations when sent from Available Messages or Stored Messages / Presentations in Venus 1500 v3 or V4
  • Display is blank, but heartbeat is showing in bottom right hand corner.
  • Unable to update the messages but able to get status in Venus 1500.
  • There are no messages listed in Running Messages / Presentations.
  • When one tries to send a message to running, it looks like the data is transferring but it does not show up in running messages.
  • There are a lot of files / messages listed in Stored Messages / Presentations.
  • Venus 1500 software crashes when trying to connect to display for the first time after software is opened.
  • Able to connect to display after clearing the display memory, but Venus 1500 software will crash when trying to publish to display.
  • Some messages may get published but other get stuck in stored messages/presentations.

Cause

  • Corrupt message file either on computer or controller.

Resolution

  1. Clear the display memory.
  2. Run a memory clean up.
  3. Locate corrupted message by running each message individually.
    1. Have end user observe the publish for each presentation until the corrupt message is found or the problem initially experienced occurs on the running message.
    2. Delete this file/presentation.
    3. Run the rest of the presentations to ensure no other corruptions.
  4. Send messages to display and verify they are showing on the sign.
