Frequently Asked Questions

What separates a Daktronics Internship from others?

If you want an internship that involves more than filing, faxing and getting coffee, Daktronics could be the place for you. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for sales and enjoy working in a changing and dynamic industry.

How do I apply for the internship?

To apply for the internship, click on the Search open Jobs link. From there you will need to click on the drop down box for Position Type. Click on intern type and the click submit to find a list of open internships. Click on the link to the internship you are interested in applying for and read the job description. You can apply online by clicking on the Apply Online link. Make sure you complete the online assessment, attach a transcript and resume. How long does the internship last?

Daktronics has two internship terms per year. The first internship term runs from the middle of January through the middle of August, requiring the student to take the spring and summer semesters off from school. The second term runs from the middle of May through the middle of December, requiring the intern to take the summer and fall semesters off from school to complete the internship.

Where are the internships located?

The majority of our internships are at our corporate headquarters in Brookings, South Dakota. Please visit the Brookings, S.D., website at cityofbrookings-sd.gov to learn more about the city of Brookings. We offer regional sales internships in locations around the country, and also often have internships at our Redwood Falls, Minn., manufacturing facility as well as our Sioux Falls, S.D., facility.

I’m not from Brookings, how do I find housing?

While Daktronics does not find housing for you, we do provide you with a list of housing opportunities in the area.

What can I expect to do during my internship?

While your day to day activities will vary upon what type of internship you are completing, you can expect to be given a generous amount of responsibility performing real projects. You won't be fetching coffee or spending your days in front of a copy machine. You will put the theories you have learned in college to use for practical applications.
