Permission Denied error when trying to access machine(s) through Avocent KVM

Potential Symptoms

Cause

  • Channels Permissions not set under Users in HMX Advanced Manager.

Resolution

  1. In HMX Manager software, go to Home, then USERS tab.
  2. Select View Users then click on the pencil icon in the right-most column to Edit.

  4. Scroll down the page until you get to Permissions.
  5. Click on the button with the double green arrows pointing to the right to move the devices in the Permission not set field to the Permitted field.

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save.
  8. Test to verify devices can now be accessed from the KVM.
