TCP/IP communication being dropped when communicating to VFC controller

Potential Symptoms

  • Third party software and Vanguard unable to communicate after period of time.
  • Need to reboot the DMP after a period of time to be able to communicate to the controller.
  • TCP/IP packets being dropped when communicating to VFC controller.

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: Vanguard
  • Component: VFC
  • Control system: 3rd party software

Cause

  • TCP traffic from 3rd party software is locking up on the controllers communication port.

Resolution

  • Set the VFC to UDP instead of TCP for Ethernet communication.
  • Set 3rd party software to use UPD.
