Scorebook Generator: How do I set up Scorecard Graphics

Topic

  • How to set up scorecard graphics

Environment

  • Product Family: Control Systems and Software
  • Product: DakStats Baseball, DSTI, Scorebook Generator
  • Components: DSTI, DMP-8000, DMP-7000
  • Control System: Show Control, Venus 7000

Steps

Before adding scorecards to display sequences, make sure the following program settings are configured:

  • In DakStats Baseball, go to Configure > Auto Start Hit Chart RTD.
  • Make sure DSTI has an output configured for scorecards.
  • In Scorebook Generator, make sure the images are set to save in the correct location, depending on the player: "D:\V7000\Bitmaps" on Venus/DMP-7000 computer "C:\Program Data\Daktronics\VNET4\Content\MediaRTD" on V-Net/DMP8000 computer (shared across the network)
  • The Scorebook Generator program must remain open to create up-to-date cards.
Unlike traditional image RTD (Section 10), scorecards are automatically generated with the correct file names. The display controller then pulls in the proper image from the Bitmaps/MediaRTD folder based on the information in DakStats Baseball.

All settings related to the formatting and appearance of scorecards are configured in the Scorebook Generator program.
Optional customizations:
  • Custom Templates - Create personalized background images for each team's scorecards.
  • Ball Arcs - Show colored ball paths to represent safe or out hits, as well as the hit location.
  • At Bat Text - Choose whether or not to display at bat text as part of each image.
  • Base running Path - Display which base the batter reached, including RBIs. Refer to the Daktronics Scorebook Generator Software Operation Manual (DD1361705) for more information on creating and customizing scorecards.
Each scorecard graphic can be placed into a display sequence as a standalone piece of image RTD or as a complement to at bat text.
Note: Outputting the scorecard graphics to the display controller requires an additional port in the Daktronics Scoring-Timing Interface (DSTI) application.
