Diagnostic Alert: Reset Error, Mod intermittently blanking out, flickering.

Potential Symptoms

  • Potential poor image quality. Video playback on the module gets interrupted each time it resets.
  • Module may be blank or flickering.

IDM / System Health Event(s)

  • Reset alert on modules.
  • Reset alert on PLR

Environment

  • Product Family:

Cause

  • Video output of the module was interrupted during the reset. Additionally, multiple unplanned resets could indicate the presence of additional problems.

Resolution

Module

  • If multiple unplanned resets have occurred, confirm that the module is receiving adequate power. If no problems are found with the power source,
  • Replace the affected module.
    •  If replacing the module does not eliminate the reset error, replace the SATA cable that connects the previous module to the problem module.
PLR
  • If multiple unplanned resets have occurred, confirm that the PLR is receiving adequate power. 

If no problems are found with the power source, contact Daktronics Technical Operations Center.
