Potential Symptoms

  • No response alert in Venus.
  • Connect failed alert error in Venus.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling adapter has no effect.
  • Update of adapter drivers has no effect.
  • Loopback test of pins 2 & 3 on USB to Serial adapter fails or is garbled.

Cause

  • USB to serial adapter has failed.

Resolution

  • Replace USB to serial adapter.
    • MOXA UPort 1110 USB to Serial adapter is recommended.
