LED Video Wall Helps Combat Crime in St. Louis Real Time Crime Center

Daktronics partners with TSI Global and St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to deliver 1.2-millimeter LED video display

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Sept. 16, 2021 – Delivering the most crucial information exactly when it is needed, Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, partnered with TSI Global and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to design, manufacture and install a massive, high-resolution LED video wall at the Real Time Crime Center in Missouri. The new system interfaces with live security feeds from across the city of St. Louis to deliver instant communication for the department.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement, “In recent years, technology has greatly enhanced law enforcement’s ability to combat violent crime. Through the use of various technologies within our Real Time Crime Center, including cameras and license plate readers, our Department has been able to bring successful conclusions to hundreds of incidents.

“We greatly appreciate the assistance of the St. Louis Police Foundation and the work done by TSI Global and Daktronics in order to complete this project. We are very pleased with the end result and believe these enhancements and upgrades will continue to contribute to the Department’s overall goal of reducing violent crime.”

The video wall measures 4.5 feet high by 48 feet wide and features 1.2-millimeter line spacing to deliver high-definition imagery for critical information inside the crime center. The technology can be viewed from as close as mere feet away from the display and delivers a crisp, clear picture.

“Partnering with TSI Global has allowed us to deliver the latest in Buy American Act compliant LED technology capable of extremely detailed and realistic image reproduction in a location where every detail is paramount,” said Kyle Harris, Daktronics sales representative. “This installation will provide clear colors, superior grey scale and resolution that will help depict real-time data and information in the crime center.”

The display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or be divided into multiple windows to deliver all the real-time data and information critical to the needs of the crime center.

Daktronics offers a line of narrow pixel pitch LED displays ranging from 2.5- to 0.7-millimeter line spacings. This product line brings expansive opportunities to those spaces commonly associated with LCD technology to show detailed, high-quality video, share artistic digital content or create luxurious environments.
