Improved Baseball Experience Headed to Chesapeake Baysox with Daktronics Installation
New video displays, digital content to entertain fans in 2025
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 10, 2025 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with the Chesapeake Baysox, the minor league affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, to design, manufacture and install two new outfield video displays at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, Maryland. The installation was recently completed and the system is currently in use for the 2025 season.
“The Baysox are hyper-focused on elevating the in-park fan entertainment and engagement,” said Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross. “I believe this project with Daktronics is a gigantic leap forward in this pursuit. We want to thank all of our partners including the Maryland National Parks and Planning Commission for helping us realize our vision.”

The outfield video displays measure 25 feet high by 70 feet wide and feature 10-millimeter pixel spacings to bring to life all the replays, statistics, graphics and animations fans expect to see at a Baysox game. The displays feature industry-leading environmental protection to ensure they operate as expected in the Maryland outdoors.
The displays also feature variable content zoning allowing them to show one large image or multiple zones of content to meet the needs of the Baysox and other special events that might be held at the stadium.
“Daktronics is excited to team up with the Chesapeake Baysox for this special project and we look forward to enhancing the experience for the Baysox and their fans for many years to come,” said Fran Kulas, Daktronics sales representative. “Prince George’s Stadium is a special ballpark and we are excited to provide these captivating displays, transforming it into one of the most mesmerizing venues in all of minor league baseball.”
