Daktronics Hires Thomas Welling to AV Channel Partner Team
Thomas is focused on expanding AV channel market growth in the Southeastern United States
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Jan. 22, 2026 – Daktronics (NASDAQ: DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has hired Thomas Welling as an account executive in the company’s AV channel partner sales team with a focus on expanding AV market growth in the Southeastern United States. Welling begins this full-time position in 2025 to proactively meet with clients to understand their project requirements and propose effective AV solutions to meet those needs.
“As we look to grow our business and expand on opportunities in the AV world, specifically in the Southeast, we’re confident that Thomas is up to the task,” said Jim Vasgaard, Daktronics national sales manager for the AV sales channel. “The way he’s approached his internship and everything we’ve laid out in front of him is nothing short of what we are looking for in an AV team member. We’re looking forward to bringing him up to speed and seeing him step up for Daktronics in this role.”
Welling brings previous Daktronics sales internship experience and a degree in Sport & Entertainment Management to this role. This includes experience representing Daktronics at industry conferences and customer demonstrations.
“I’ve spent most of 2025 working closely with the company, and I’m excited to put everything I’ve learned about Daktronics and the market into this new role,” said Welling on joining the Daktronics AV channel partner team.
Welling attended college at the University of South Carolina and will be located in the southeast region to better serve Daktronics customers in the area.
