Daktronics is providing 10 displays for Gentile Arena

Loyola University Chicago Introducing Centerhung Ring, End Wall LED Video Displays

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Nov. 1, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has been selected by Loyola University Chicago to manufacture and install 10 LED displays for Gentile Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The installation includes a unique centerhung ring display and will be completed this fall to inform and entertain Ramblers fans this season.

"We are very pleased to be partnering with Daktronics on the significant digital enhancements throughout Gentile Arena," said Loyola University's Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations Tom Sorboro. "The state-of-the-art space ring, video boards and scorer's tables will improve the overall fan experience and increase engagement at our basketball and volleyball contests."

The unique focal point of the installation will be the LED "Space Ring" display, a single ring-shaped display hanging above the center of the court. It will feature 10-millimeter line spacing and measure 4 feet high by 81 feet in circumference to show statistics and graphics throughout events.

The new main display will be mounted on the east end of the arena and measure nearly 10 feet high by 24 feet wide. The main display will feature 6-millimeter line spacing for excellent image clarity and contrast for student-athletes and fans throughout the arena.

"It's exciting to be part of this project for a such a great customer in Loyola University Chicago," said Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics sales representative. "The overall production of the end wall video displays combined with the unique ring display will provide a great atmosphere for the university and its fans. We're looking forward to seeing the completed installation this fall."

Two auxiliary displays – one mounted on each side of the main display – will each measure approximately 8 feet high by 19 feet wide. These displays will feature 10-millimeter line spacing and provide supplemental information to the main display while providing versatility to the entire event production.

Two LED vomitory displays and four court-side LED scorer's table displays are also included with the installation. One vomitory display will be mounted above the entrances to the playing floor at each end of the arena. Each will measure approximately 3 feet high by 18 feet wide. The scorer's tables will each measure roughly 2 feet high by 9 feet wide. All six of these displays will feature 10-millimeter line spacing to bring additional opportunities to highlight statistics and sponsorships throughout events.

The end wall video displays are capable of variable content zoning which allows them to show one large video image or to be divided into multiple windows to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

Included with the installation, the university will receive content produced by Daktronics Creative Services, an award-winning, in-house digital content production team, at the request of the school.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
