Digital Billboard Victory for Rotor Clip and Daktronics

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 13, 2017 – Rotor Clip Company, Inc. of Somerset, New Jersey, now owns a digital billboard designed and manufactured by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. While the display is new, the process to acquire it took several years and sessions in court.

Rotor Clip became interested in adding a digital billboard in the mid-2000s. Once ready, they sought out Daktronics as a provider. Rotor Clip approached local courts for permission to install the board but was denied. Several digital billboards already existed within the area. After considering the matter, Rotor Clip took to the appellate courts.

"Our experience with Daktronics was nothing short of tremendous," commented Joe Cappello, a legal representative for Rotor Clip. "They stand by the product for the entire duration of the sale cycle and are loyal to their customers."

In coming to Rotor Clip's defense, Daktronics aligned a team consisting of a signage legislation department, zoning staff and professional engineers to provide expert testimony and scientific reports focusing on safety and brightness. After much consideration by the court, the decision was eventually overturned, resulting in approval from the courts.

"Daktronics is extremely loyal and trustworthy," said Jonathan Slass, Co-President of Rotor Clip. "I would recommend them 100%."

Rotor Clip's double-sided DB-6000 was installed this year and measures 14 feet tall by 48 feet wide. It features crisp, full-color imagery for prime advertising space along the busy Interstate 287 with 20-millimeter line spacing.

Known for long lifetime image quality with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology provides value and excitement for years to come.

Digital technology provides a flexible solution for scheduling messages for multiple advertisers and allows for quick and easy changes in content. Visit the Daktronics website for more information on digital Out of Home billboard technology.
