Gill Coliseum and Reser Stadium getting LED upgrades

Daktronics Installing Curved Centerhung Displays, Ribbon Display For Oregon State University Facilities

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 5, 2018 – Beavers fans will soon have new reason for excitement as Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with Oregon State University (OSU) for new LED display technology. A four inward-curved centerhung displays will be installed inside Gill Coliseum and a new ribbon display will be added to Reser Stadium this month.

"Gill Coliseum is one of the iconic arenas in the country and these major additions will continue to transform the facility and improve the fan and student-athlete experience," OSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Barnes said. "The improvements to Gill Coliseum are also part of our larger long-term athletics facility enhancement plan that will enable Oregon State Athletics to continue to grow."

Events at Gill Coliseum will have a new focus for live video, replays and statistics with four inward-curved LED video displays, each featuring 6-millimeter line spacing, suspended above the court. The configuration will feature two 14.5-foot-high by 26-foot-wide displays facing the sidelines and two 9.5-foot-high by 16.5-foot-wide displays facing the ends of the coliseum.

Stepping outdoors, Reser Stadium will receive a 3.5-foot-high by 522-foot-long ribbon display along the facility's seating fascia. It will feature a 15HD pixel layout to bring excellent image clarity and contrast to statistics, graphics and other messages during football games.

"The new centerhung and scorer's tables will add to the level of entertainment at every event inside Gill Coliseum. And the new ribbon display at Reser Field will add an extra element that fans and sponsors will certainly notice at every game. Gill Coliseum will also be receiving two LED scorer's tables, each measuring 2 feet high by 9.5 feet wide and featuring 10-millimeter line spacing. These can be paired together to show supplemental content to the main displays and to highlight sponsors throughout events.

The centerhung displays inside Gill Coliseum are each capable of variable content zoning. This feature allows each display to show one large image or to show multiple different zones of content including scoring and statistics, live video and instant replay, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
