IRET Development Relies On Daktronics For First Freeform LED Display In Belgium

57.81 square meters turns building façade into lighting spectacle

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 18, 2016 – IRET Development of Antwerp, Belgium, selected Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) to design, manufacture and install a digital façade of freeform LED elements flush with the face of the Post-X building in Berchem, Belgium. The display provides full video capabilities when viewed from outside the building while also providing the ability to see through the display when looking out the windows from inside the building.

The display measures 6.15 meters high by 9.4 meters wide and features 50-millimeter pixel spacing on each freeform stick element which are vertically spaced 50 millimeters apart. These LED elements mount to the surface of the building yet preserve the architectural integrity while providing a dynamic lighting and messaging space used to show logos of companies which inhabit the building.

"We are extremely pleased to be a part of this unique project which provides a great video display without compromising the view from inside the building," said Daktronics Sales Representative Mathieu Verbraken. "Being able to provide a flush integration of these LED elements is very valuable to our partner architects as the display becomes part of their overall design. The result is a fantastic branding display."

Daktronics has installed more than 170 freeform LED video displays dating back to 2005. The technology features industry-leading environmental protection for a long lifetime with consistent performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
