All Sport Pro: Remote Start/Stop/Horn or Double Reset not working

Potential Symptoms

  • All Sport Pro is working with fixed digit and video displays, but the remote start/stop ports are not working.
  • Remotes work when plugged into a standard All Sport 5000.
  • Able to control displays from the web interface.

Environment

  • Product: All Sport Pro
  • Component: All Sport Pro Interface; Remote Start/Stop/Horn or Start/Stop/Double Reset
  • Control System: All Sport Pro

Cause

  • The Lantronix box that is internal to the All Sport Pro does not have the correct IP address, or the IP address is outside the range of the All Sport Pro server.

OR

  • Scoreboard communication settings set to none when it should be set to "network" or "serial" depending on configuration

OR

  • Machine with All sport Pro software does not have the correct subnet mask

Resolution

  • Ensure the Lantronix gets a valid IP address for communication. If it is set to DHCP, you may need to check the DHCP settings on the router or assign a static IP address using Device Installer.

OR

  • Set Scoreboard communication to correct setting
    1. Click menu on top left of screen
    2. Select Scoreboards
    3. Select Scoreboard in use
    4. Under Communications confirm "Scoreboard Communication (MDP)" is set to "network" or "serial"

OR

  • Verify subnet mask for the DHCP setting on the router, typically 255.255.255.0
  • If the lantronix is getting a DHCP address then the subnet mask of the lantronix will match the DHCP settings in the router
  • Locate the machine with All Sport Pro installed (HSPR typically installed on the show control laptop or DMP-8000)
  • Make sure that the machine with All Sport Pro installed has the same subnet mask as the router and lantronix box

  • Start/Stop from the web interface.
