Environment

  • Product: DMP-8000 v7.13+
  • Components: DMP-8000 with a video capture device (DMP-8304, DMP-8401, etc.)
  • Control System: Show Control System, Venus Control Suite

If using a Standard Video system that was shipped prior to May 2019, please see DMP-8000: How do I get video into VNet .

Steps

Using Show Control

DMP-8000's that detect a video capture card will have .DPF files automatically generated. They are located here: C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\VNet4\Content\system\devices.

If your device has multiple inputs, you'll see multiple files created with a number that coorelates to the jacks on the capture card. You can copy, move, and rename the appropriate file to make it easy to locate and use.

Be sure your video device (camera, video switcher, laptop) is plugged into the corresponding video input jack and is outputting video correctly. If you have issues, you may want to verify your video output using a video monitor.

The .DPF files are played just like playing any other piece of content.
Note: For optimal performance, play to a zone designated specifically for live video. Cover if you need to show other information like prompts, etc.

  1. Right click in a scripting container; select create new button.
    1. Choose DMP-8000 Player Control
    2. Select zone to play video. (Use a zone designated to continuously capture video for optimal performance.)
    3. Choose Play
    4. Browse to your .DPF file
