Show Control System: How do I create a button for a DakAlpha system?

Topic

  • Display Studio scripts with a DakAlpha system
  • Show live video when DakAlpha is enabled
  • Show Control's Display Studio script buttons
With Dak Alpha setups, the video becomes the very back-most layer with the DMP-8000 content layered on top of that. It is important to blank or hide any unneeded zones and content to be able to view the video feed on the bottom layer.

Requirements
  1. Update a look package
  2. Enabled DakAlpha
  3. Configured DMP to output Key/Fill to a VP-6000

Environment

  • Product: Display Studio, VP-6000 version 11 or later
  • Components:
  • Control System: Show Control System (SCS)

Steps

For scripting basics, see: Display Studio: How do I Create Scripting Buttons?

Create a Script button in Display Studio

Right click, select New button
Full Screen Video can be accomplished using 2 types of buttons:
  1. Blanking the DMP-8000 zones (transitions can be put on blanks so that you can fade to video instead of having to hard cut) and triggering the VP-6000 look to go Full Screen

  2. Setting the zone visibility on the DMP-8000 zones to hidden that way if you have sponsorship rotations or messages you want to come back to in the same frame after showing live video full screen, you can pick up where that content left off using pause/resume commands in addition to the 2 script lines shown here.
