Error 1068: "The dependency service or group failed to start", Fusion dependencies disabled

Potential Symptoms

Environment

  • Product Family:
  • Product: Venus 1500
  • Component: Daktronics Fusion Service
  • Control System: Venus 1500 v4.22.2

Cause

  • One or more Fusion dependencies are disabled.

Resolution

  1. Open Start Menu, search for MSCONFIG.
  2. Go to the Services tab, and select the Manufacturer column to organize the list by manufacturer.
  3. Check the box next to every Microsoft Corporation service to enable.
    1. Note: this process can be sped up by selecting "Hide all Microsoft services" and take a screen shot of which remaining service are disabled.
    2. Unselect "Hide all Microsoft services" and select the Enable All option.
    3. Unselect the remaining services that were disabled in the screenshot taken in step 1.
  4. Select, Apply.
  5. Select Ok.
  6. Restart PC and run the Venus 1500 installer on boot up.
    • Note: Running the Fusion installer instead of the Venus 1500 installer will install Fusion correctly, but you will run into errors with Venus 1500 after launching because the Venus 1500 program was installed with the Windows Service dependencies disabled.
