Message only shows on part of the display

Potential Symptoms

  • Part of the display is blank.
  • The display is showing mixed or garbled information.

Environment

  • Product Family:  Vanguard
  • Product: VF, VM, and VX-series displays
  • Component: Vanguard Control Board (VCB) / Display Interface Board
  • Control System: VFC

Cause

  •   Module signal connector was connected improperly on the VCB.

Resolution

  • Run a message that covers the whole display form side to side, top to bottom.
  • Inspect the signal line from the controller to the Display.
  • Go into the display and inspect the VCB module signal line.
  • Reseat the module signal connector properly so that all pins are aligned correctly on the board.
  • Look at the front of the display to ensure the message is showing properly.
