How to change the Community Name on a VFC Controller

Topic

  • How do I change the Community (String) Name on a VFC Controller?

Environment

  • Product Family: Vanguard
  • Product: VF, VM, VX, VC6, and VS6 displays
  • Component: VFC
  • Control System: Vanguard

Steps

  1. Login to Vanguard Professional software.
  2. Select Get/Set Utility under the Add-Ins.
  3. Select the display in the left field that you want to modify the community name for.
  4. Then, in the MIB tree on the right, click on global, then security, then communityNameAdmin.
  5. Enter the new community string into this field, then click on Set button.

Note:

The NTCIP Profile in Vanguard (or other third-party NTCIP) software for that display needs to be updated to reflect the desired community string name (matching the VFC's community string name).
