Vanguard: How do I add a display in the Standard software

- How to add a display in Vanguard Standard software?
Environment
- Product: VF Displays
- Component:
- Control System: Vanguard (V4) Standard software
Steps
- Login to Vanguard Standard software.
- Select System options.
- Select System Configuration.
- Select Manage displays.
- Select Add a new display.
- Select network:
- Select existing network if network has already been added/used in this Vanguard Standard installation on this machine
- Select from pre-existing networks, or
- Create new network
- Select type of communication:
- Internet
- Enter IP address of display, port number, and transport layer, then click Next button
- Direct (serial)
- Select appropriate parameters for Port, Baud rate, Handshaking, and Parity from drop-down menus. Click Next button.
- Dialup
- Enter phone number, select Transport from drop-down menus, and enter CHAP name and CHAP secret as necessary. Click on Next button.
- Select No back-up network or Create back-up network
- Select Manual or Automatic Configuration (not all display models support Automatic configuration)
- Select existing (NTCIP) profile (typical) or Create new profile (recommend working with Transportation Technical Services if this option is selected)
- If Existing NTCIP profile, select appropriate from drop-down options (refer to contract-specific documentation for correct NTCIP-profile), then click on Next button
- Select existing display type or create new display type.
- If existing display type, select from drop-down options, then click Next button,
- If creating new display type:
- Select appropriate display type (matrix)
- Enter display height (pixels), width (pixels), color depth, and color, then click on Next button,
- Select default font list (typical) or custom font list. If default font list, then select from drop-down options - will coincide with display controller type), the click on Next button.
- Specify display type name (typically this is left automatically named - this is the display type name, not the display name). Click Next button.
- Enter Hardware address and verify correct time zone. Click Next button.
- Enter Display name in Name field.
- Click Finish button.
