When capturing 1080i or NTSC 480i with DMP-8000, fast movement on the display causes de-interlacing artifacts or stuttering on display

Potential Symptoms

  • When capturing 1080i or NTSC 480i with DMP-8000 de-interlacing artifacts or stuttering can easily be seen when fast movement is on the display.

Cause

  • De-interlacing is not enabled by default

Resolution

  1. Check for existing .dpf files:
    • Older software on DMP-8000 look at:  C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Vnet4\Content\devices
    • Newer software on DMP-8000 look at C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Vnet4\Content\system\devices
    • Or in Venus Control Suite Media Library.
  2. If one does not exist with following annotation enter video.filter=yadif and video.format=1080i59.94 into one of the existing .dpf files associated with device (see attached file).
    SDI_1080i599.dpf
    Note: .dpf file will not work with multibridge devices.
