DMP-8000: How do I update player firmware using Legacy interface?

Environment

  • Product Family: Software
  • Product: DMP-8000 versions prior to 7.28
  • Components:
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite
Versions 7.28+ do not have the Silverlight link. Use How do I update DMP controller firmware through the HTML Configuration UI? for newer versions.
  • Windows XP systems or DMPs controlled by Venus 1500 should use the latest release of version 6. (Do not update to version 7 or later.)
  • For computers running Windows 7 load version 7
  • All other systems would be recommended to use the latest release
  • Version 8.0 of the DMP will not support Visiconn as a control system.

Steps

Updating multiple machines through Venus Control Suite

Venus Control Suite can be used to update multiple machines
  1. Download the latest version of DMP.
  2. Log into Venus.  See: How do I log into Venus Control Suite?
  3. Upload the version.
    1. Click Settings on the left-hand side menu and Upload File.
    2. Select the DMP EXE downloaded from step 1.
  4. Apply the update.
    1. Click Displays on the left-hand side menu and select the display to update.
    2. Under the Display, click Troubleshooting.
    3. Click Update Display and select the version to update to. This will update all players associated with this display.
  5. Repeat process for each display.

Updating individual machines via Silverlight

  1. Log in to the DMP Silverlight user interface.
  2. Download the latest version of DMP.
  3. Select Configuration, Firmware.
  4. Click upload... and follow the onscreen directions to update the firmware.
