Content Studio: Error "Content Studio By Daktronics has stopped working", Venus Control Suite (VCS) and Venus 1500 V4 installed on the same machine

Potential Symptoms

Content Studio for either Venus Control Suite or Venus 1500 V4 will not open.

Content Studio may launch and then crash unexpectedly or load the splash screen and then close with no errors.

"Content Studio By Daktronics has stopped working".
Running a repair on Venus V4 may allow its Content Studio to become temporarily available but VCS Content Studio will become inoperable (and vice versa).

Cause

Alternate versions of Content Studio are conflicting with one another preventing proper performance of either.

Resolution

Utilize two separate computers for the different software.

For Temporary Operation

Note: VCS Locally hosted is not supported on same machine as Venus 1500 v4. Below steps may not resolve issues for the locally hosted Venus Control Suite therefore resolution above is only option at this time.

If Venus 1500 V4 is needed on same machine follow steps below and utilize Venus 1500's Content Studio to create content for VCS displays:
1. Verify "Daktronics Venus Client" is uninstalled in Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2. Delete the following folders:
  - C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Content Studio
  - C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Content Studio
  - C:\Program Data\Daktronics\Data Server (needed if external data support should be restored, otherwise it will be broken)
    - If not able to see Program data follow: How do I show hidden files/folders in XP, Vista or Windows 7? .
3. Run repair on Venus 1500 v4 software.
4. Follow:Content Studio: How do I use my Venus 1500 V4 Content Studio to create presentations that can be loaded into Venus Control Suite?
If Venus 1500 V4 is NOT needed, uninstall Venus 1500 V4 before installing Venus Control Suite or Venus Client.
