How to change the IP on Windows 7 or windows 10 OS for an AF-6710, LS-1000 and LX-1000 display

Topic

  • How do I change the IP address on a Data Display AF-6710/ LS-1000 or LX-1000?
  • How do I disable the write filter on a Data Display.

Environment

  • Product: AF-6710 or LS-1000 data display
  • Components: SBC with Win7 OS
  • Control System: DVS software, tight VNC, VNC Viewer

Steps

  1. You will need the VNC Software to do these steps.
  2. Power cycle the display if it's been running more than a few minutes.
  3. Use VNC to connect to the maintenance IP port (Next to LAN 1).
  4. Connect to the display using the default IP address that is listed on the SBC sticker.
  5. Then disable the write filter:
    1. Close DVS runner and Google Chrome.
      1. To access these click the Windows icon on the top of the VNC window.
      2. Right click on the command prompt and close it.
      3. Click the Windows icon.
      4. Right click Chrome and close the window.
    2. Right click on the command prompt icon.
    3. Choose run as administrator.
    4. enter ewfmgr -all -commitanddisable -live
    5. Once the cursor is at available again and you see C:\Users:\Administrator> the filter should be disabled
  6. Double click the Network icon.
    1. Click Network and Sharing Center.
    2. Click Change adapter settings.
    3. Choose the network adapter that needs the IP set (be sure it's NOT the maintenance port- it should be set to DHCP by default).
    4. Update the IP.
    5. Close all the network windows.
  7. Enable the write filter.
    1. In command prompt enter ewfmgr -all -enable.
    2. After you press enter you should see ENABLE behind Boot Command in the list- this will cause the write filter to restart after Windows is restarted.
  8. Restart Windows (Be sure to choose restart rather than shut down. If you choose shut down the power to the display will have to be cycled which may require a site visit).
