Troubleshooting Hub - Biamp Audia EXPI/O-2 Input/Output Expander
Potential Symptoms
- No audio signal showing up at amplifiers in digital mode
Environment
- Biamp Audia EXPI/O-2 Input/output Expander
- Sportsound 500HD, 1500HD, 2000HD
Resolution
- Look at the bottom left corner of the Ethernet port for LED identification.
- No Lights = Not connected to a switch.
- Intermitten flashing about 1 time per second or solid green light = Connected to a switch but no CobraNet connection to amplifiers. Verify configuration using DD2909756.There must be a connection in order to continue troubleshooting.
- Consistent flashing (Roughly 6 times per second) = Device has a CobraNet connection to amplifiers, proper working state.
- Verify the input is plugged into mic/line inputs Input 1
- Set mixer to output a 1kHz sine wave between 0.5VAC - 1VAC. (1 kHz sine wave). https://dakfiles.daktronics.com/downloads/Audio/CD Test Tones/
- Measure the AC voltage with a digital multimeter placed between the positive and negative terminals of the main Mixer output Male XLR connector.
- If level is above or below the range in step 1, adjust it using the mixer's channel and master faders.
- Measure the AC voltage at the input of the Biamp terminal block between the positive and negative terminals.
- If it reads the same voltage as the Male XLR connector, you are getting proper signal.
- If voltage reads different than the Male XLR connector, there is likely an issue, see No signal is present at analog to digital converter in the fiber box for additional troubleshooting
- Connect a computer to the system (via DIAGNOSTIC PORT on the bottom of the fiber box or an open port on the network switch) and start CobraNet Discovery software.
- If devices populate and are configured properly, close CobraNet Discovery and use proper Sportsound monitoring panel to verify the amplifiers are receiving proper signal.
