DMP-7000: How do I create startup button in Display Studio?
Topic
- What is the best practice for creating a startup button in Display Studio with a DMP-7000?
Environment
- Product:
- Components: DMP-7000, Display Studio
- Control System: Show Control System (SCS)
A 'Startup' (commonly called Initialize) button can be used to 'turn on' your Daktronics displays in order to view content on them. This button allows for a one-click startup command which plays black files to host signs, enabling messages on preconfigured windows to be visible.
Steps
Create a Black Sequence File
Inside of Display Studio open, click on the pencil icon in the upper right corner to open Content Studio. Click on the 'paper' icon in the upper left to create a new file.
- Select the appropriate host sign.
- When your new file is open with a black background, it is ready to save. Save the file with the name 'Black'. Perform this step again for each of your host signs.
Create a New Script Button
Inside of your Display Studio Scripting Container, right-click and select New Button. Type Display Startup into the button's heading Click "Yes" to create a schedule.
Add a Command to Play the Black Sequence File
- Add a line by clicking the "+" icon. This will bring up a 5 step process. In Step 1 select DMP-7000 Video Processor Control.
- Click on button 2 and select the appropriate host sign(s) you will play file(s) to. Note: The files need to be named the same (i.e. 'Black') in order to select multiple signs in step 3. In the case that the files are not named the same; select one sign.
Click on button 3 and select Play.
Click on button 4 and select Add. Browse to the appropriate file (i.e. 'Black').
Click on button 5 and select Continuous.
Note: If you selected one host sign in step 2 you will need to add another line.
Click on the 'star' icon and follow steps 2-6 for each host sign.
