Steps
- In order to use a DHCP name on a network properly the following steps must be taken.
- The display must be configured to use a DHCP name determined by the end user's IT department. How to set a Galaxy display to use a DHCP name, DD2740376
- The end user's IT department must have DNS and DHCP set up properly in order for the DHCP name on our display to be resolved by the network.
- Instead of using an IP address in Venus 1500 to connect to the sign, you must use the DHCP name in the text field when it asks you to enter a DNS or IP address and the port number.
- To test if the name resolution is working properly, you can type nslookup "nameofsign" in a command prompt and it should return the domain and IP address of that the display is currently set to.
