How do I setup connection to a display in Vanguard Configuration Utility (VCU)?

How to update firmware on Vanguard Display using Vanguard: How do I access the Configuration Utility software.

Environment

  • Product Family:  Transportation
  • Product:  VF, VX, VL, VS, VM displays
  • Component:  VFC-3000 and M2 / M3
  • Control System:  Vanguard software, VCU

Steps

  1. Open Vanguard Configuration Utility.
    1. Utility location:
      1. Desktop shortcut icon.
      2. C:/Program Files (x86)/Daktronics/Vanguard/V4/Configuration Utility/Vanguard Configuration Utility.exe
  2. Double click Vanguard Configuration Utility.exe to open.
  3. Select Display Type.
    1. Generic Display Type will work for most displays.

  5. Create Connection.

  7. Click on the green plus icon to configure the connection.
  8. Select IP.
  9. Add IP address.
  10. Select Null.
  11. Enter the Name in the field.
  12. Select the Name (just created) from the drop-down options.
  13. Click on Get from display.
  14. Upload firmware and reset controller.
  15. Send Firmware and Reset.PNG
  16. Click on Open DFTP Window.
  17. Click on Put.
  18. Click on All files.
  19. Choose the firmware file to be transferred to the controller.
  20. Click on Put and monitor status (wait for it to finish).
  21. After file transfer is compete, click on Reset Display.
