  • You will see the following errors in the Venus 1500.log file found at 
    • Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Daktronics\Venus 1500 v4
    • Windows Vista, 7 or 8 - C:\Program Data\Daktronics\Venus 1500 v4
    • Service Daktronics Fusion was not found on computer '.'.
    • The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 v4.18.1
  • Windows XP, Windows 7 (x86)

Cause

The  Daktronics Fusion did not install on the Windows XP Machine. If you do not see the above error in the Venus 1500 log, do not proceed with resolution.

Resolution

Step 1: Uninstall Venus 1500 V4 and Daktronics Data Server from Add/Remove programs.

  1. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Control Panel.
  2. Select Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Browse and locate the following programs:
    • Daktronics Data Server (if installed)
    • Venus 1500 v4
  4. Select each program and click Remove/Uninstall.

Step 2: Remove (if present) the config.exe files from Program Files.

  1. Go Windows Start Menu -> My Computer and go to the following location:
    • C:\Program Files\Daktronics
  2. Go into each of the following folders and remove/delete the .exe.config files.
    • Nucleus Server - Select and delete the Nucleus Server.exe.config file.
    • Venus 1500 v4 - Select and delete the Venus 1500 v4.exe.config file.
    • Content Studio - Select and delete the Content Studio.exe.config file.
  3. Please note the folders may or may not have been removed during the installation process, only need to remove the files if still present.

Step 3: Reinstall Venus 1500 v4 by following DD1993540.
