Venus 1500 v4.18.1, When installing get error "The installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express SP3 (x86 & x64Wow) - Nucleus has failed. Setup will now exit."

Potential Symptoms

During install of Venus 1500 v4.18.1, receive the following error:

The installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express SP3 (x86 & x64Wow) - Nucleus has failed. Setup will now exit.

Environment

Venus 1500 v4.18.1

Cause

Issue is with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 install.

Resolution

Note - Venus 1500 V4.22.3 should be installed if the computer being used, communications and display can support the latest version

It may be best to uninstall any components that have been installed from the previous attempt

Install the latest version of Venus 1500 V4.22.3

Step 1: Verify Windows Updates are Completed and computer has been restarted.

You will need to contact your Company IT Department or a Computer Technician if you do not know how to check for Windows Updates.

Step 2: Verify there are no compressed files or folders linked to Venus 1500 v4 and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

Step 3: Verify the issue is not Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) related.

Step 4: Check the SQL Server Install Logs for more information.

Go to Windows Explorer from My Computer or Computer.
Go tot he following location:
- Windows 32 Bit System: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log
- Windows 64 Bit System: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log
Double-click on System.txt log file.
Scroll to the bottom and look for any errors or information.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, try to Manually install SQL Server 2008, DD2474426.
