Venus 1500: Installing v4.18+ receive error "The installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express SP3 (x86 & x64Wow) - Nucleus has failed. Setup will now exit"
Potential Symptoms
- When installing Venus 1500 v4.18 or greater receive error:
- "The installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express SP3 (x86 & x64Wow) - Nucleus has failed. Setup will now exit."
- The Microsoft SQL Server Bootstrap summery log shows the following error:
- LOG File found at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log
- Choose the folder with the latest date and open the Summery.txt
- The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service cannot be started. To continue with the installation, you must troubleshoot and repair your Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service.
Environment
- Venus 1500 v4.18 or greater
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Cause
- There is an issue with the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).
Resolution
This is a non Daktronics related error. Daktronics cannot work on WMI issues/errors or provide support or service. This can not be repaired by Daktronics and we hold no liability for the listed solution or Microsoft Articles provided in the Work Around.
You will need to contact your Company IT Department to troubleshoot and diagnose the WMI issues. You may have your IT Department try the following:
- There is a possible workaround to resolve the issue, however cannot not be performed by Daktronics or any of its affiliates. If this workaround does not work or damages the End User PC, we hold no responsibility for damage nor back up this workaround.
