Venus 1500: Images and videos missing in Content Studio, Folder moved.
Potential Symptoms
- No images or videos showing in the Media Library in Content studio, Venus 1500 V4.
- When downloading Media kit Video files are not showing up in Content studio but are stored on the hard drive.
- Cannot find the free images/videos from Daktronics even though I downloaded them.
Environment

- Control System: Venus 1500 V4
Cause
- Folder with the Daktronics images/video's was moved.
- On Windows 7, 8, 10 and Vista OS, the media files are downloaded to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\My Daktronics folder.
- On Windows XP OS, the media files are downloaded to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Daktronics.
Notes:
- When transferring/backing up a database via the Daktronics Database Utility, it will not save the media kit content (i.e. if transferring database to a new computer w/ a new install of Venus, the media kit will need to be downloaded again).
- The Media Library saves the last search location upon closing Content Studio so if you had searched in a different folder (i.e. My Documents) the last time you were in Content Studio then you may need to click the Search In drop down and find Daktronics Library.
Resolution
- Manually locate content on the computer and then browse for it within Venus 1500 V4.
- Create new slide.
- Click on the videos tab in media library.
- Click drop down arrow and choose browse.
- Locate the directory by following the path to c:\\users\public\documents\MyDaktronics.
- Click search to populate video's.

- Re-Download the media kit by following Venus 1500: How do I download the Version 4 Media Kit? . Doing so will place the files in their correct places.
