  • When clicking Publish to Display Venus 1500 v4 Crashes and gives error:
    • Venus 1500 by Daktronics has encountered a problem and needs to close.
  • When getting status of display Venus 1500 V4 crashes and gives error:
    • Venus 1500 by Daktronics has encountered a problem and needs to close.
  • When viewing Venus1500.log view the following error:
    • Error Message: Data Access Error: Duplicate entries not allowed.
  • To view error log above, follow directions:
    1. Go to your Computer or My Computer and navigate to the following location:
      1. Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Daktronics\Venus 1500 v4
      2. Windows Vista or 7 - C:\ProgramData\DAKTRONICS\Venus 1500 V4
    2. Open the Venus1500.log by right-click -> Open With -> Notepad.
    3. Scroll down to the last few error entrees and look for the above error.

Cause

  • The configured display(s) in the Nucleus Database are corrupted.

Resolution

  • IMPORTANT: Please follow directions step by step. Failing to follow directions may cause lost information.
  1. Launch Venus 1500 v4.
  2. Click the Orange V Application Menu -> Configure -> Displays.
  3. Select the Display(s) and click Edit.
  4. Write down or make a note of the Sign Configuration and communication type information.
    1. Repeat if multiple displays.
  5. Select the Display(s) and click Remove Display.
  6. On the prompt "Are you sure you wish to permanently delete the display?" Click Yes.
    • IMPORTANT, on the second prompt "Would you like to remove all content associated with this display, including presentation, schedules, and backups?" Click No
      • If you click Yes to this prompt you will lose ALL created presentations and schedules. 
      • If you click Yes to this prompt those presentations are permanently deleted and cannot be restored by Daktronics.
  7. Re-Configure the Display(s) by following How do I create and configure a new display in Venus 1500 v4? DD1974222 and using the information that was written down or noted about the configuration.
