How to configure a new VLink/VIP 4400 using the initialize script

Resolution

From the Venus 7000 (DMP-7000)

Prerequisites: The Initialize button must be configured, reference the Venus 7000: How do I create an initialize button article

  1. In the Venus 7000 Shell, click on the Display button to open the V7Display - Scripting page
  2. Click on the Initialize button to run the initialize script, this will send the default configuration to the VLink's
  3. In the little window below the script buttons you will see the results of the Initialize script commands, quickly verify that all lines have an OK: and that the last line reads "Script has ended"
  4. Go to the Start button>All Programs>Venus 7000> Venus 7000 Tools> and open the V7 VLink Debug program
  5. Click on the sign drop-down and select the newly installed VLink
  6. Select channel drop down-channel #1
  7. In the command field, type "cf s" and click the send command button, this will store the current configuration onto the VLink so that it will load automatically each time the VLink boots up
    • Repeat steps 6 and 7 for any remaining channels that were configured.

From Display Studio

Prerequisites: The Initialize button must be configured. 

  1. Click on the Initialize button to run the initialize script, this will send the default configuration to the VLink's.
  2. In the little window above the script buttons you will see the results of the Initialize script commands, quickly verify that all lines have an OK: and that the last line reads "Script has ended".
  3. In the Venus 7000.
    1. Go to the Start button>All Programs>Venus 7000> Venus 7000 Tools> and open the V7 VLink Debug program.
    2. Click on the sign drop-down and select the newly installed VLink.
    3. Select channel drop down-channel #1.
    4. In the command field, type "cf s" and click the send command button, this will store the current configuration onto the VLink so that it will load automatically each time the VLink boots up.
    5. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for any remaining channels that were configured.
