Show Control System: Display Studio Status Error red, Video Processor Error status window.

Potential Symptoms

  • Video Processor Error in Display Studio status window.

Environment

    • Product: Show Control System (SCS)
    • Component: VLink; VIP; V7000; Venus 7000; DMP-7000
    • Control System: Display Studio

    Cause

    • VIP 4400, VIP 4500 or other Video Processor is unplugged or not communicating with the system thru its Serial Connection.  Possible faulty serial expander card from controlling V7000.
    • Could also be using a VLink that won't work with Show Control (3000, 3100, 3500). Since you are unable to control these set them to Overlay mode which allows both Venus and Video content to play on them.
    • VLink is associated with incorrect COM Port in Venus7000.

    Resolution

    1. Verify that the Serial Connection is securely connected to the VIP and the Display controller.
    2. Verify correct COM port is selected for the sign in Venus7000 configuration.  *If using a serial expander card, ensure device is registering in the Device Manager under the Ports section.
    3. Re-establish communications through communications port.
    4. After communication is re-established, must click the Test button in the Status Indicator error message to start sending commands to that Video Processor again.
