Update firmware on a VIP 4500
Environment
- Product Family: Video Processor
- Product: VIP-4500, VLink-4500, DMP-7000
- Components:
- Control System: DMP-7000
Resolution
- Multiple physical reboots to the VIP-4500 during updating process is required.
- Allot at least 1 hour per VIP
- Best to perform with at least 2 days prior to next event if possible.
- Not recommended, but if physical access is not possible it would be required to have a running iBoot to complete the update remotely.

- Save V-Link configuration Settings for all 4 channels (How to save configuration for VIP, DD2036611).
- If the VxPort is being used with the V-Link, these VxPort settings will not save in the VLC file (Mini VxPort, Settings needed to save and send, DD2162055).
- If the VIP was sent in and resistor update was applied a label should have been put on the VLink indicating the hardware / resistor update was done.
- Has Resistor Update: For VIP 4500, "Rev 10" or greater on the label.
