Thumbnails for graphics or videos are not showing in media library and yellow layout box is blank.

Potential Symptoms

  • Content Studio options are grayed out.
  • The yellow layout boarder box is small, and in the top left corner of layout and cannot edit or type in the layout.
  • The graphic import window looks black or Thumbnails for graphics or videos are not showing in media library.
  • When previewing presentations, the preview is black.
  • Issues go away when tech Bomgar into the computer.
  • Unable to type text within the layout window.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 Version 4
  • Show Control System
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Vista

Cause

  • Venus 1500 v4 software can not run properly when Windows is set to a personalized, or Aero Windows theme. Currently Venus 1500 v4 does not disable any theme mode or default to Windows 7 Basic mode.

Resolution

  • Change Windows theme to Windows 7 Basic Theme or Vista Windows Classic
  1. On desktop, right-click and select Personalize.
  2. Scroll down and select the Windows 7 Basic Theme or Vista Windows Classic.
  3. Theme changes instantly.
  4. close out of personalize screen.
  5. Re-launch Venus 1500 v4 software.
  • If changing the theme doesn't work, check the Windows resolution and change to recommended setting 1440x900.
  • May need to repeat steps a couple of times and restart computer in the process to make sure the correct theme sticks.
